Employment Agencies

Employment agencies are private organizations whose primary function is to place people in jobs.  They maintain an inventory of job seekers and match their skills with the position requirements of the employing organization.  Their fees are paid by the employing organization, usually in the form of a commission tied to a percentage of the job candidate's starting salary.   In most cases, the worker remains employed by the employment agency but carries out duties under the direction and control of the employing organization.  Employment agencies generally specialize in providing organizations with short term help.
